Gopher-It

The life of a gopher is a dirty one. Digging around, pushing rocks, no showers. But they are clever little animals, always solving puzzles. Give it a try.

Use the cursor keys to dig through the soil and collect diamonds. Once all the diamonds are collected, the door will open and you can enter it to move on to the next level. For extra points, pick up rubies and kill as many monsters as you can by pushing or dropping boulders onto them.

There are 35 levels. In each level, you will gradually lose points once you start moving around. Try the practice mode first to learn how to solve each level. In competition mode, you must get through the levels in sequence, with only 3 spare lives.

Tips:

Be careful when navigating the boulders. Boulders will drop when not supported from below, or when supported by another boulder that has an empty space to one side. You can prop up boulders by digging beneath them, but be careful when you move downward or they might clobber you! In some levels, you will have to plan carefully to prevent boulders from trapping you or sealing off your exit.

There are two kinds of monsters, and by learning their behavior you can ambush them with boulders. You can also protect yourself from them by using boulders to block passageways.
